Comic Paradise, also known as Comipara, is the leading comic event in Yogyakarta where creators from all over Indonesia assemble in a productive and supportive environment, packed with various interesting activities and pop-culture entertainment that appeals not only to comic fans but also teenagers and young adult visitors.

Every individual, group, or institution registered as an exhibitor (hereinafter referred to as the "Exhibitor") must strictly comply with all provisions below. Any violation of these regulations may result in immediate disciplinary action, up to eviction from the event venue without any refund.

Permitted Products and Activities (Allowed)

Exhibitors are only permitted to display, promote, or sell the following products and activities:

  • Official & Licensed Products: Items that hold valid and official licenses from the respective copyright holders.

  • Original Intellectual Property (Original IP): Authentic works created, produced, and distributed directly by the registered Exhibitor.

  • Officially Published Comics: Officially published comic books, provided that the booth registrant is the publisher or the legal distribution rights holder.

  • Independent Promotional Materials: Brand or IP promotion through respectful visual displays, catalogs, or interactive booth activities.

  • Educational & Creative Content: Educational activities and art exhibitions directly related to the comic and creative industries.

Prohibitions on SARA, Pornography, and Public Decency

Exhibitors are strictly prohibited from producing, displaying, distributing, or selling negative content, including:

  • NSFW/Pornographic Content: Any form of work containing vulgarity, pornography, or Not Safe For Work (NSFW) content.

  • SARA & Political Content: Works containing provocative elements related to Ethnicity, Religion, Race, and Inter-group relations (SARA), as well as practical political campaign materials.

  • Violations of Public Decency: Actions, visuals, displays, or behaviors that violate the standards of politeness, morality, and public ethics.

Anti-Plagiarism and Artificial Intelligence (AI) Regulations

Comipara is fully committed to protecting human creators and original artistry. Any violation will result in the immediate on-site confiscation of the offending products by the committee team. Therefore, the following are strictly prohibited:

  • AI-Generated Works: Displaying or selling products created using AI Art or AI-generated image technology.

  • AI Promotional Materials: Utilizing AI applications to create main booth artwork, banners, product catalogs, printed brochures, or any similar promotional materials.

  • Stolen and Counterfeit Works (Tracing/Bootleg): Selling stolen artwork, traced designs, imitations, or pirated/bootleg products.

  • Restricted Fandom Fanmerch: The sale of fan merchandise (fanmerch) must comply with applicable Intellectual Property (IP) regulations. Exhibitors are strictly prohibited from selling works from fandom categories restricted by the original creators (non-licensable or limited fandom).

Copyright and Consignment Provisions (Ownership)

  • Non-IP Comics: Exhibitors are prohibited from selling comic books that are not part of their own registered Intellectual Property (IP).

  • Unauthorized Consignment: Selling comic books on consignment from creators who are not officially registered members of the designated booth is strictly prohibited.

  • Reselling Indie Comics: Reselling indie or self-published comics created by other creators without prior written permission and official registration with the committee is strictly forbidden.

Commercial Food & Beverage Prohibitions

  • Commercial F&B Ban: Exhibitors are strictly prohibited from selling general or commercial food and beverages (ready-to-eat items intended for immediate consumption) at the booth area.

  • Promotional Exceptions (Freebies): Food or beverage distribution is only permitted if the items are specially packaged, serve as official branded merchandise of the Exhibitor, and are distributed completely free of charge (non-commercial freebies/giveaways).

  • Promotional Snacks: The distribution of small snacks is allowed solely as a promotional aid for the main creative product and must not be sold under any circumstances.

Booth Cleanliness and Orderliness

  • Waste Management: Every Exhibitor is fully responsible for maintaining the cleanliness, neatness, and aesthetic presentation of their respective booth area throughout the event.

  • After Event Clean-Up: Exhibitors must clean up all operational waste from their booth before leaving the exhibition area at the end of the event.

Comipara Quest System Integration

  • Event Support Commitment: Every Exhibitor is fully obligated to support, commit to, and take responsibility for executing the Comipara Quest system integrated into their booth.

  • Dual-Role Prohibition (Hunter): Booth staff and participants are strictly prohibited from playing as Hunters in the Comipara Quest system to ensure absolute fairness.

  • Official Ticket Exception: This restriction is waived only if the staff or participant has personally purchased an official visitor ticket and is completely off-duty from booth management.

Booth Ownership and Transfer Prohibitions

  • Transfer Ban: Purchased or rented booths are absolute and strictly prohibited from being transferred, reassigned, subleased, or resold to any other party for any reason whatsoever.

  • Unilateral Cancellation: Any violation of this clause will result in the immediate forfeiture of the booth rental rights. The committee reserves the right to seal the booth without any obligation to refund the rental fees paid.

Limitation of Liability (Event Security)

  • Independent Security: Exhibitors must take full responsibility for the security of their own assets, products, cash, and personal belongings at all times during event operational hours.

  • Unattended Booth Ban: Exhibitors are strictly prohibited from leaving their booth empty and unattended.

  • Waiver of Committee Liability: The Comipara Committee is fully released from any claims for compensation regarding the loss, theft, damage, or destruction of any items belonging to the Exhibitor. Security responsibilities cannot be delegated to the committee.

  • Schedule Compliance: Exhibitors must strictly adhere to all timelines, loading/unloading deadlines, and operational schedules established by the Comipara team.

Committee Execution Rights and Blacklist Sanctions

  • Enforcement Authority: The Comipara Committee holds the absolute right to conduct spot inspections, issue warnings, and execute immediate on-site sanctions for any violations of these regulations.

  • Sanction Stages: Sanctions may include verbal warnings, written reprimands, confiscation of violating products, up to forced booth closure and eviction from the Comipara venue.

  • Additional Sanctions (Permanent Blacklist): If severe violations are discovered during or after the event, the Comipara Committee reserves the right to impose additional sanctions, including placing the creator, group, or institution on a permanent Blacklist from all future Comipara events indefinitely.
